Savory Miso Oatmeal with Mushrooms

Oatmeal doesn’t always have to be sweet. A savory version made with instant miso soup, tofu and dried mushrooms offers a satisfying and umami-packed breakfast experience.

you'll need:

1/3 cup quick-cooking oats iHerb
1 packet instant miso soup with tofu iHerb
1 tablespoon dehydrated mushrooms, crumbled
1 teaspoon dried wakame seaweeds

at home:

Mix all dry ingredients in a medium-sized zip lock freezer bag.
Pack ghee and walnuts separately.

on the trail:

Bring 2/3 cup water to a boil.
Carefully pour hot water into the bag with Savory Miso Oatmeal mixture.
Stir well, close the bag and let sit in a cozy (warm place) for about 5 minutes.
Add ghee and enjoy!

notes:

Cold Soaking Method:

Pour 1  cup of cold water into the container or bag with the Savory Miso Oatmeal mix.
Stir well. Seal the container and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, occasionally stirring or shaking to mix the ingredients.
After soaking, your savory miso oatmeal is ready to eat. Enjoy a nutritious and flavorful breakfast!
